What
Is An
Elective 3 Dimensional Ultrasound?
3 dimensional (3D) ultrasound creates amazing images that allow you to
clearly see your baby in detail. Add time to this, and you
now have 4D which lets you watch your baby move in 3D. You might catch
them sucking a thumb or yawning. Or maybe they’ll
give you a little wave.
Who
Will Be Performing My Ultrasound?
At Nestled Newborn we only use certified and experienced
sonographers.
Will
I Be Able To Determine The Gender Of
My Baby?
Yes. Our trained sonographers can determine if
you’re having a boy or a girl. On occasion, however, accuracy
can be difficult due to baby’s position. In this case,
we’ll invite you back for a quick second peek at no
additional charge.
Do
I Need A Full Bladder?
You will NOT need a full bladder for your session.
What
Should I Wear For My Ultrasound?
Wearing a comfortable two piece outfit is easiest for mom-to-be.
Should
I Make An Appointment?
Yes. Sessions are scheduled by appointment only.
Does
Insurance Cover My Session?
No. This elective service isn’t covered by insurance. We
accept major credit cards, checks and cash.
Do
I Need To Be Under The Care Of A
Physician?
Yes. Nestled Newborn requires that you be under the active care of a
physician. We’ve provided an easy
Prenatal Care Verification
form for your convenience. Just
download the form and have your
physicians office fill it out. You can bring it with you for your
appointment or send it by
fax
to 678-445-9343. Our ultrasound
sessions
allow you to spend time bonding with your baby and are medically
limited. They should NEVER be used as a replacement for your
physician’s diagnostic ultrasound.
When
Is The Best Time To Schedule My 3D
Ultrasound?
Between 18 and 34 weeks is the ideal time to see your baby. Before 24
weeks you can see more of your baby at one time. After 24 weeks, facial
features become easier to define due to developing fat layers.
Can I Bring My Family and Friends With
Me?
Absolutely! This is a tremendously happy time and we want your family
and friends to be able to share in the excitement of seeing your new
baby. We have a beautiful theater-like setting, where mom-to-be and up
to 8 guests can lounge comfortably. (You’re welcome to bring
more than 8 guests though). We even warm our gel!
Is Ultrasound Safe?
Ultrasound has been safely used for over three decades and studies have
not shown any harmful effects to mother or baby. Our ultrasound
equipment is FDA regulated and our sessions are performed by highly
trained sonographers only. We encourage you to
consult your physician about your 3D ultrasound session and
any potential risks. You may also want to visit the web sites listed
